Kite Fest in Punta Cana

Puntacana Resort & Club celebrará el Puntacana Kite Fest, como parte de los festejos de su 45 aniversario, el evento se realizará del 23 al 26 de este mes en Playa Blanca, según anunció la empresa en un comunicado.

En la actividad competirán más de 50 kitesurfistas nacionales e internacionales en las categorías "Amateur” (Carrera y Free Style), "Profesional” (Slider y Kicker) y "Abierto” para todos el Big Air.

En esta ocasión, en la categoría profesional, participará la experimentada Susi Mai y Robinson Hilario, finalista de la Copa Mundial y parte del equipo de International F-One (DR), además de la española Gisela Pulido.

La propuesta también incluye la música con DJ local todos los días, así como actividades para toda la familia, lecciones de Kite, Voleibol de playa, entre otras actividades. Playa Blanca cuenta con las condiciones de viento ideales para Kitesurfistas de todos los niveles.

El Puntacana Kite Fest de este año también incluirá un concurso fotográfico, cuyas bases están disponibles en http://www.puntacanablogs. Un jurado seleccionará las tres fotografías ganadores de cada categoría.

Aaron Hadlow back on the top at the Punta Cana kite fest After almost 10 months out of competitions due to his knee injury, Aaron Hadlow once again was on top of the podium by winning the "Red Bull Sun Slide" sliders competition inside the fourth edition of the Punta Cana Kite Fest. Over 50 kiters from 9 different nationalities made the trip to Playa Blanca at the Punta Cana Resort to participate in the five different kite disciplines from the 18th through the 20th of January. Local kiter Alex Soto took the biggest purse of the fest by winning the Men's Freestyle and Pro Course Race making a total of US $1,600, although again the story of the weekend was the comeback of 5 times World Champion Aaron Hadlow, who came into his first competition after missing the kites for almost a year. Susi Mai got the first place in the Women's Freestyle Competition in front of the crowd that saw her start this kite destination four years ago. "For me it was great to be here once again, with all the local kiters from Cabarete in this new spot, it was like a big school trip with all your friends and just having some great time with now more kiting disciplines available and good music for the audience" concluded Susi.
